The Nationals WA will invest $20 million to establish a safe boat harbour in Ledge Point and a boat ramp in Lancelin if returned to Government at the State election.
Announced by Member for Moore Shane Love and Leader of The Nationals WA Brendon Grylls on February 8, the Ledge Point Boat Harbour and Lancelin ramp will be funded by Royalties for Regions and deliver a welcome boost to the local economy.
“This $20 million investment will be a major boon for recreational fisherman, tourism and local businesses in Lancelin,Ledge Point and surrounding communities,” Mr Love said.
“If the Nationals are returned to government, Ledge Point and Lancelin residents and visitors can look forward to safe and convenient boating access to the ocean waters.”
Mr Love also announced The Nationals’ $2 million commitment to upgrade Old Ledge Point Road, which links that town with neighbouring Lancelin.
Mr Love said both projects would complement The Nationals $610 million strategy to transform the State’s tourism sector.
“Tourism will plan a key role in economic development and job creation as the State’s economy continues to diversify, this is a particularly important industry to the future of the coastal communities such as Lancelin and Ledge Point” Mr Love said.
“This is why over the next four years, The Nationals WA will expand our focus on tourism to diversify the State’s economy.”
