A host of local projects in the Goldfields-Esperance region will benefit from the latest rounds of the Community Chest Fund (CCF) and Regional Grants Scheme (RGS), both made possible by Royalties for Regions.
Member for Mining and Pastoral Region Dave Grills MLC said the State Government’s CCF funding stream specifically provided one-off grants to community, public and not-for-profit organisations to improve and develop infrastructure and services in the region.
Mr Grills said that through the CCF’s latest grants 16 locally driven projects would share in $505,538.
“The Community Chest Fund provides voluntary organisations, educational institutions and community groups with grants of up to $50,000 to support local projects,” he said.

Nationals WA Candidate for Roe Peter Rundle, who is a former Development Commission Chair, said the $1.5 million CCF and RGS investment supported by Royalties for Regions would create stronger, more liveable communities.
“This is yet another example of Royalties for Regions providing funding to such a diverse range of projects to ensure regional WA continues to be a great place to live, work and invest,” Mr Rundle said.
“This funding will support region-specific priorities that are driven by local communities to facilitate the development of infrastructure, services and community projects that help build vibrant regions with strong economies.
“I congratulate the Board of the Goldfields Esperance Development Commission in their difficult task in selecting from the many worthy projects that applied.”
The State Government, through the Royalties for Regions program, will invest $10 million into the CCF over four years and will invest a further $10 million into the RGS for the 2016-17 financial year.
