Projects in Nabawa, Northampton and Perenjori will benefit in the latest round of Mid West Community Chest Fund grants, made possible by Royalties for Regions.
The Shire of Chapman Valley is to receive $33,500 for a shade structure at the Nabawa Showgrounds, the Northampton Shire has been granted $22,991 for the redevelopment of Lion’s Park in Northampton and the Shire of Perenjori will receive $10,000 for a portable stage.
Member for Moore Shane Love MLA said the Community Chest Fund provided one-off grants of up to $50,000 to community, public and not for profit organisations to improve and develop infrastructure and services in the region.
Western Australia’s nine regional development commissions oversee the projects, each being allocated an equal share from which to provide the Community Chest Fund grants.
“I am pleased to see Royalties for Regions investing in such a diverse range of projects,” Mr Love said.
“This funding will support region-specific priorities that are driven by local communities to assist the development of infrastructure, services and community projects that help build vibrant regions with strong economies.
“I congratulate the Board of the Mid West Development Commission in their extraordinarily difficult task in selecting from the very many worthy projects that applied.”
Royalties for Regions will invest $10 million into the Community Chest Fund over the next four years.
